Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas (1893–1967) – famous poet, playwright, prosaist, translator, professor of literature science, one of the most celebrated Lithuanian writers of the XXth century.
He chose the town of Kačerginė to meet his elderness. Here V. M. Putinas translated "Ponas Tadas", planned and wrote memoirs, wrote poems, and managed the edition of "Raštai".
In 1981 a memorial was built in the courtyard of the house to remember the writer.
